NetWorker Patches (EKS)

Important Note:
All packages and patches for Fujitsu NetWorker and NetWorker modules for all platforms and several versions are available for download via the Internet. However, there are some restrictions imposed by law, and we have to make sure that only authorized people have access to the download area. To grant our customers access to the software packages we have set up an authenticated path via NELI - the Fujitsu online license delivery application - at http://ts.fujitsu.com/neli.
Customers who have purchased and downloaded licenses from Fujitsu automatically get a NELI account; the login and password information is provided on the license document which is delivered after a purchase.
In case you have lost your account information please contact neli@ts.fujitsu.com and provide all available purchase information so that Fujitsu can identify your order and redeliver your license document.

Until end of July 2009 the software packages and patches are available for download via NELI and the links provided below.
Afterwards the download is possible via NELI only.

Beginning with EKS 4 of NetWorker V7.4 we provide the well known EKS software packages and the so called Service Pack (SP) software packages.
With this type of package we follow the way EMC and other vendors bring bug fixes to the systems.
From the next NetWorker Version 7.5 on, only Service Pack software packages will be released, and no EKS packages will be available any more.
The bug fixes and only the bug fixes listed in the EKS readme file are included in both types of packages.

The differences between the two types of packages are:

• there are Service Pack packages for NetWorker Client, Storage Node and Server. You have to install the SP NetWorker Client package when the NetWorker Client software is used on the corresponding host.
  For Storage Node and Server analogous.
  Once you have installed a SP package it is not possible to install an EKS package on top of the SP package.
• a Service Pack package contains all components that are part of the corresponding NetWorker package.
• there is only one EKS package for NetWorker Client, Storage Node and Server.
• a EKS package only contains those components which are affected by the bug fixes.
• On Linux systems the use of functions checking the consistency of the installed software are not usable with EKS packages, with SP packages the consistency check works in the correct manner.
• with Solaris non-global Zones it is not 100% secure that a EKS is installed correctly in a non-global Zones which is added later. With the SP package the installation is correct.
• The NetWorker Software Distribution feature can be used to install a SP package when a NetWorker package is installed, e.g. you can update a NetWorker 7.3 Client or Storage Node to NetWorker 7.4 if you install the SP package. There is no need to install manually the first EKS.

You can install either the EKS software package or the SP package corresponding to the installed NetWorker package.
